John B. Taylor named to international finance committee

Economist and SCID faculty affiliate John B. Taylor was recently named to the G20 Eminent Persons Group on Global Financial Governance, which represents 20 of the world’s major economies, and includes 16 of the world’s top economists and financial leaders.
They will examine matters related to global financial governance and offer recommendations for reform to help promote economic stability and sustainable growth.
Taylor has served as under secretary for international affairs at the U.S. Treasury (2001-2005), where he was responsible for U.S. oversight of the IMF, World Bank and other international financial institutions; on the advisory panel of the Congressional Budget Office (1983, 1995-2001); and on the President’s Council of Economic Advisers (1976-1977, 1989-1991), among other senior government positions.
